Here’s some lightweight stuff for the end of the week.
The Stalwart pokes great fun at semiconductor analysts in this article. When people ask us what “More Signal. Less Noise.” is supposed to mean, I’ll point them at this post and indicate that unlike others, we try to be concise and firm when it comes to our opinions. Either you have an opinion, or you don’t know. If you’re in between, then the answer is you don’t know.
From the Electronic News article The Stalwart links to.
There is one thing the market research firms and industry analysts agree on, and that’s that 2006 will be a growth year for the chip industry, with much of that coming in the latter half.
Imagine! Semiconductor market research firms forcasting more growth! But not now - later!
When was the last time you saw a report from a tech research house that said there would be less growth, or even more unimaginable - no growth. You’ll never see such a report because no one would pay to have one floating around the marketing office. “Hey Boss! I need $3k to buy this report that says our business is going to tank!”
Have a great weekend.
